We met Mandie and the girls at Julie Balay salon where the girls were getting their hair done. After Mandie's hair was done, we headed over to Eric Fisher Salon where Mandie had her make-up done. While the girls were all getting ready, the guys were hanging out at the church (Grace Presbyterian Church) playing a little ping pong before they started getting ready.

Mandie found her stunning dress in Atlanta by designer Rivini and the flowergirl's dresses were designed by Vera Wang. All the girls carried handmade monogramed handkerchiefs made by Mandie's mom. The flowers were beautiful and done by Jared's aunt. The girls carried two toned red rose bouquets and the guys wore fragrant white orchids.
Jared and Mandie - June 27, 2008

Mandie had one shot that she wanted to make sure we got and it was of her handing her dad back his Visa card that she had used for wedding expenses. He was so surprised that he couldn't help but, laugh - lightening the mood just before walking his daughter down the long rose petal lined aisle to the very happy groom.

After the lovely ceremony, which was highlighted by a full formally dressed choir and violins, we headed to the reception at the Petroleum Club. Jared's mom made the most amazing groom's cake covered by a fondant icing flag with a picture of Jared during his service in Iraq.

It was definately my most favorite groom's cake ever, even without tasting it! After all the traditional reception dances, toasts, etc. the party was on with the highlight being a tie between Jared singing "My Girl" to Mandee and the groomsmen's choreographed dance to "Bye, bye, bye" by the Backstreet Boys. At the end of the reception, the couple exited to a shower of sparklers.

Mandie and Jared, we were so honored to be part of your day and appreciate the sacrifices you made to serve our country.
In honor of Independence Day we would like to thank all of our veterans, active military and their families who have given and continue to give so much for us to enjoy our freedom - God Bless America!

We started the day early meeting Ashley & the girls at Emily Dawn salon. Once ready, the girls headed to the church, First Bible Baptist Church to finish getting ready. Thanks to Ashley's detailed planning and the help of the wedding coordinators at the church, we were able to make sure Ashley & Jacob didn't run into each other before the ceremony as we took pictures of the girls and guys separately around the church. The church was simply but elegantly decorated with candles and flowers. The colors of the wedding were blue, yellow and green. The girls wore aqua blue short strapless dresses with a lace sash at the waist. The flowergirl's dress was made by Ashley's mom and matched Ashley's gown. All the ladies carried beautiful bouquets with yellow and white roses and lilies.
During the ceremony, there were a few special touches that showed Ashley & Jacob's fun personalities, including jumping off the stage after being announced husband and wife. One of the surprises was pulled by one of the best men (Jacob's three brother's were all best men) as he handed Jacob a large light up ring, or as the paster called it the "bling, bling ring" instead of the real ring.

After the wedding, the guests received hand dyed paper cones full of bird seed & rice to shower the couple with as they exited the church. We headed to Bradley Fair with the couple to take a few outdoor shots before heading to the reception. Ashley couldn't wait to get to the reception to see the wedding cake which her mom had made. It was a square tiered cake with graduating layers of blue icing from dark to light and topped with a silver W for their last name.

The reception was held at the Best Western in Park City. Dinner was served as soon as the couple was announced into the reception. After dinner, it was time for the toasts, cake cutting and dance to begin.

Congratulations Ashley & Jacob - it was an honor to cover your day and a bonus that it was so much fun hanging out with you and your friends.

Cassi & David

We started the day early heading to Hutchinson for Cassi & David's wedding. Cheryl met Cassi and her Mom at the Style Expressions salon where she was getting her hair done,

while Brett met David and the guys at Carey Park to capture the fun the guys were having playing a round of disc golf. Then it was off the the church, First Assembly of God, where the girls were getting ready.

A friend of the family did all the decorating at the church and the girl's flowers which consisted of white roses and calalillies. The girls each carried a special handkerchief that showed their fun personalities and were tucked into their bouquets. Since Cassi & David chose to see each other before the ceremony, we were able to head across the street from the church to take a few outside shots with the couple and wedding party.
As Cassi was escorted down the aisle by her dad, she and David made their secret "I love you" signs to each other. After the ceremony, the couple exited to a shower of Party Popper streamers as they made their way to David bright blue Mustang.

Before heading to the reception, we went back to Carey Park where we got some amazing shots.

Then, it was off the the State Fairgrounds where the reception was being held in the Domestic Arts Building. The couple, along with friends and family had spent a lot of time transforming the building into a beautiful reception site. Once the couple was introduced, cut the cake, did the traditional dances and threw the bouquet and garter, the party was on.
We had a great time hanging out with Cassi, David, their families and friends and learning about their amazing courtship (starting in grade school where they met on the same playground that David ended up proposing to Cassi). Congratulations to you guys and good luck on your move in a few weeks. We know you'll have a relaxing time in Hawaii on your honeymoon. Thank you again for letting us into your lives to share your day.

Mandi & Andrew

We started the day meeting Mandi and the girls at Salon Knotty where Mandi worked. After getting their hair done, it was time to head to the church (Evangel Assembly of God) for the girls to finish getting ready and to retouch their hair due to the incredibly strong Kansas winds.
The flowers were created by J.R. Koontz and consisted of beautiful arrangements of while lilies, roses, and stephanotis. They looked incredible and they were exactly what Mandi had imagined them to be.

Mandi and Andrew chose to see each other before the ceremony and wanted their family and friends to share in their moment. After the formal portraits, it was time for the ceremony to begin. It was a bittersweet moment for both families since Andrew and Mandi will be moving to California when they get back from their honeymoon.

After the ceremony, the couple exited to a windy shower of bubbles. The couple was introduced at the reception held at The Petroleum Club. We were able to get some cool shots around the building since it was too windy to do any outdoor shots. Instead of the traditional wedding cake, the couple opted for an oreo cheesecake wedding cake and dessert bar with their favorite pies, including the groom's favorite lemon meringue.

We were so honored to be chosen to document Mandi & Andrew's wedding since Mandi's dad has worked many of the wedding fairs. It was a very touching day to witness the emotion of both families as they celebrated the love and commitment that Mandi and Andrew share as they begin this new chapter. Thank you for letting us into your lives to share one of the most important days in your lives. We wish you all the best as you start your new life together.
