We met Jocelyn and the girls at the Union Pacific Train Depot in Manhattan, Kansas where they were decorating for the reception. What a great building, with it's arched windows, old wood work and peaked roof! Jocelyn had spent a lot of effort planning the decorations for the reception and all of the work paid off because it looked fantastic when it was all done and the candles were lit for the evening reception. The fall touches were everywhere and it looked so elegant with chocolate and ivory as their wedding colors, with a few fall colors added as accents. The most touching decoration, was the red pewter rose with gold edging that Cody used to propose to Jocelyn at Estes Park, Colorado. Cody is definately at romantic at heart!

When the hall was ready, the girls traveled the short distance to Aggieville to Aggie Hair Shapers to get their hair done. The girls brought champaign & orange juice to have mamosas while they waited their turn for hair and make-up. Except for Jocelyn's niece and junior bridesmaid, Aspen, who just had OJ in her champaign glass. As Jocelyn and girls got their hair & make-up done, Jocelyn's parents and sister, Julie, were busy decorating the outdoor wedding site at Pfeil Creek Park and trying to find another white wooden arch for the wedding since the strong Kansas winds destroyed the first one. Luckily, it all came together and looked beautiful with the fall colored flower arrangement at the top of the arch and the yellow leafed trees in the background.

Since the couple didn't want to see each other before the ceremony, Brett met the guys at the train depot for pictures instead of the park due to the winds. The building blocked the 30-35 mile per hour winds, so we were still able to get some great outdoor shots. When Brett was done with the guys, Cody hid in the bathroom while Jocelyn and girls got their pictures taken. Jocelyn was so sweet when Cody was hiding in the bathroom, she had to tell him that she loved him even though they couldn't see each other. If Cody had been able to see Jocelyn beforehand, he would have seen how incredible she looked in her silk strapless ivory gown with chiffon overlay that gathered at the waist. Her veil was trimmed with rhinestones and she wore an elaborate comb tucked her hair just above the veil. As elegant as Jocelyn looked, you would never know she was wearing flip flops under her gown. She also had a K-State garter with a rose made from her mother's wedding dress attached. She finished her look with strands of pearls as her necklace and bracelet and carried a beautiful bouquet of red, yellow and ivory roses with berry accents.

Despite the incredibly strong Kansas winds which died down just in time for the ceremony, it was a beautiful sunny and warm day as the guests walked across the red suspension bridge to the wedding site as the string quartet played. The ceremony started a little late, as Cody waited for his sister, Julie, and the ring bearer, Sebastian, Julie's South African Mastiff, to arrive from Texas despite car trouble and delays with the rental company. Even though Julie & Sebastian didn't make it on time, they arrived shortly after the ceremony and still got to celebrate at the reception. After the ceremony and pictures, Cody & Jocelyn rode off into the sunset to the reception in a red Ford Mustang that Jocelyn's family restored.

At the reception, the guest were treated to small boxes of fudge that Cody & Jocelyn had gotten from Estes Park, Colorado. The wedding cake was decorated with fall colored leaf shaped candies and made by Janice Hill from Vern's Wedding Cake Shop in Manhattan. Cody's mom made the grooms cake, red velvet and one of Jocelyn's favorites, Italian creme. After the reception, the couple exited the train depot surround by sparkler's.

Though Cody & Jocelyn have been dating for many years, their wedding day was a day for them to share their love with family, friends and each other. Cody & Jocelyn, we have two wishes for you as you start your married life together: As the saying Cody's mom had printed on the thank you notes at the hotel for Cody & Jocelyn's guests - Fall in Love - that is our first wish for you guys, that you continue to fall in love for many happy years together. Secondly, as Jocelyn's dad quoted from Star Trek in his toast to the couple, "Live well and prosper". Have a great time on your honeymoon in New Mexico!

We started the day off early in order to meet Rose at her parent's home in Topeka, Ks, so we could get a few pics of her getting her hair done. Since their cat thought Rose's shirt was the perfect place for a nap, she wore one of her dad's button-up shirts while her childhood friend Lindsey curled and curled and curled Rose's hair. It was worth the time it took to curl Rose's thick hair since she wanted to wear it down with a simple tiara.

Rose was so excited and couldn't wait to get into her dress. After getting her make-up done at the MAC counter at Dillard's in the West Ridge Mall with the rest of her bridesmaids, she was finally able to slip into her dress at the church. Rose looked stunning in her beautiful ivory gown with sequined bodice and gathered waist. For her something old, Rose wore an heirloom necklace that belonged to her Grandmother, and her something blue was a family pin of a little bluebird that her mother called the bluebird of happiness. But, the most touching thing Rose wore was a bracelet in honor of Adam's dad.

Adam & Rose had decided to see each other before the ceremony so they could take all the pictures beforehand and be able to head straight to the reception. Rose was so anxious and excited to finally get to see Adam, and from the look on Adam's face when he turned to see his lovely bride, he felt the same. With the extra time we had by taking the formals beforehand, we were able to spend some time with Rose & Adam around the beautiful church grounds at St. Matthew's Catholic Church.

After the traditional Catholic ceremony, the couple exited the church to a wall of bubbles and headed to the reception which was held at the Expo Center's Heritage Hall. The hall looked incredible at night with the arched windows and outdoor gazebo lit up. Adam & Rose had a roasted pig with all the sides for a real BBQ dinner. After dinner, the dance got underway with the couple first dance to Here by Me by Three Doors Down. It was a great party and the guests were having a great time dancing the night away, including Rose's grandpa who had a great time dancing with his daughters - Rose's mom, Stephanie and all her sisters.

Adam & Rose, thank you so much for making our job so easy and making it such a joy to capture your special day. We had a great time working you guys, watching your love and affection for each other, is what make our job so great. Have a great time at the Riviera!

Scott & Jen

Despite the forecast for rain, the weather held out for Scott & Jen's wedding day and actually turned out to be a perfect fall day for their outdoor wedding. After getting her hair done, Jen, her bridesmaids and brother, Jared, met at Eberly Farms to decorate for the wedding. Jared was Jen's man of honor and even wore a boutonniere with a ribbon that said all boy. And even though Jared supposedly doesn't smile, he was so happy for his only sister that we witnessed quite a few smiles and even captured a few.

The colors for Scott & Jen's wedding were chocolate brown, golden yellow and burgundy. Jen found the German style beer mugs on E-bay that they used for the flower & wheat centerpieces. To add the fall touches around the hall that Jen & Scott wanted, they added leaf shaped candle holders, silk leaves, pumpkins and gourds to each of the tables. It was obvious that Jen had spent a lot of time planning everything down to the smallest detail. Jen along with her bridesmaid, Erin, made all of the flower arrangements and the bouquets with fall flowers and wheat, each one unique. Jen's bouquet was made of brown edged with burgundy and off white hydrangeas with wheat accents and tied with brown and burgundy ribbons. Jen and Erin also stamped and hole punched with leave shapes all of the little cards attached to the M&M party favors for the couple's guests. The biggest hit with family and friends were the three digital frames that the couple displayed showing pictures of each of their childhoods and one of photos of the couple.

After all the special touches were made to the hall and outside for the ceremony, it was finally time for the wedding party to get ready. The girls hid in the ladies bathroom, putting on their make-up and slipping into their chocolate brown two piece halter dresses. After all the girls were ready, they helped Jen get into her strapless gown with chocolate brown ribbon adorned with beading along the top and down the middle of the back accentuating the brown beaded train. Jen's tiara, brown trimmed veil and chocolate rhinestone strap heels added an elegant final touch to her look. Scott calls Jen his goddess and it was obvious he thought she looked like one as she walked down the flower lined staircase toward her waiting groom.

As the wedding started, the guests were surprised by non-traditional wedding music showing Scott & Jen's desire to have their wedding reflect their personalities. The most touching part of the ceremony was the kid parade, when all the children were invited to the front to give Scott & Jen hugs and kisses and wish them much happiness. It was so sweet and obviously meant a lot to Scott & Jen for all the kids to be there and for their wedding to be a true family celebration. As the couple walked down the aisle after being pronounced husband & wife, the guests rang bells tied with brown ribbons. We were able to get a shot of Scott & Jen with all of their wedding guests behind them right after the service. After getting all the family and wedding party shots, it was time for dinner Eberly Farm's style with beef brisket, grilled chicken, pulled pork and all the trimmings.

When everyone was full and the couple had a chance to visit each table and greet their guests, we headed outside for a few shots of the couple just as the sun was setting. While we were outside, Scott & Jen's guests had the chance to sign a special wedding plate with well wishes for the couple. The dance began with another non-traiditonal wedding song that was just perfect for Scott & Jen. The songs they chose for their dances with their parents followed the theme of non-traditional and seemed to be the perfect choice as Jen's dad and Scott's mom both sang along to the songs that the couple had chosen for them.

Scott & Jen, our wish for you is that you always find joy in the little things - just as you stamped on your M&M's. A great reminder to all of us to stop and appreciate the gifts in our lives. Thanks for letting us capture the moments of your day. We're sure you'll have a great time in Hawaii and be able to find the joy in it all.

Thanks again,
cheryl & brett

Marshall & Stacey

Stacey started the day off early with family and friends helping her decorate the reception site at the Old Cowtown Museum. The early start was worth it because it looked incredible when they were finished. It was obvious that Stacey had spent a lot of time planning everything down to the smallest detail. Stacey & Marshall's colors were brown and pink with touches of green, including the centerpieces of tall vases filled with green apples and topped with beautiful flower arrangements of a variety of pink flowers.

Stacey left the reception site in the capable hands of her helpers so she could start getting ready at the Hotel at Old Town. As Stacey's friend and bridesmaid, Jessica, did her hair in a flattering up do, Marshall was texting Stacey to ask if she'd meet him at the church. Her answer was yes, of course. With a little extra time, Stacey slipped into her beautiful sheath wedding gown with chapel length train and lace overlay that was adorned with beading and sequin. I was able to grab a few shots of Stacey around the hotel while Brett got a few shots of the guys getting ready.

The wedding was at the quaint Woodland United Methodist Church in North Riverside. The stone exterior, solid wood doors and stained glass windows are just a few of the beautiful architectural details of the church. The couple decided to see each other before the ceremony, Marshall was so excited to see Stacey that he snuck to the back of the church to see her as soon as she walked through the church doors instead of waiting at the front of the church. Even though he got a sneak peak, Marshall played along as Stacey's six bridesmaids peeked through one of the side doors to watch Stacey walk down the aisle to Marshall.

After the wedding, the couple exited the church to a ton of bubbles as they made their way to the limo. The couple and wedding party met us at Riverside Park for a few shots before heading to the reception. The highlight of the reception was when Stacey & Marshall surprised Marshall's grandparents with a 50th Anniversary cake to celebrate their shared wedding day.

A few of the other special touches at the reception were the beautiful wedding cake with rhinestone ribbons and cascading flowers, Texas shaped grooms cake, personalized cups, and the candy table with pink M&M's, Whoppers and Kisses. There were so many other details making Stacey & Marshall's wedding & reception so uniquely theirs that you'll have to check out the debut in order to see them all. Everything was beautiful and well planned, making the entire day exactly what Stacey & Marshall had wanted it to be. Thanks again Stacey & Marshall for being such good sports and letting us take so many pictures. And for letting Natanya take a few shots at the park for her class. You guys kept us laughing and we had a great time capturing your day.

Thanks again, Cheryl & Brett
